Architectural Digest, April 2010
Not that these interiors are anything most of us can afford, or will ever set foot in. But I think the magazine, as well as their site, www.architecturaldigest.com, really deserve a recommendation. For example this slideshow from the April '10 issue:

Or their list of famous interior designers and architects:

In general, the magazine features classy, contemporary or modernist, as well as timeless, romantic, historic or dramatic homes and interiors.
What do I like about AD? I think the photography is always excellent, it captures the essence of each room. Pictures often show inspiring arrangements: Art objects and furniture, wall art positioning and color schemes that are easy to copy.
I sometimes just look at the AD website with no particular intention of finding anything specific, and then I end up seeing a gift idea, or a way to change my bedroom, or something my best friend could do to her living room to make it more beautiful.
Loads of ideas to be had here, for free. Highly recommended!
Renate's Reply: Thank you, great tip, Stephanie! And I think you're right, just because most of these mansions are out of reach for most people doesn't mean they're not brilliant learning and inspiration material.
